A Complete Seasonal Weight
Training Program for your Entire Team!
This manual contains the exact
weight training sessions that were used by the New Albany Aquatics
Club (NAAC) for the 2007-2008 Ohio HS season. There are a total
of 50 weight training workouts, all in the order that we performed
them, just as we performed them. It would serve you or your team
best to use this information as a guide… not to follow our
training blindly, but to understand the general principles behind
our methods and adjust workouts, exercises, sets and reps accordingly
to get you or your team swimming faster. Do not use this manual
as your weight room “Bible”, but simply as you or your
team’s strength training template – a solid, organized
plan that you can and should deviate from as necessary to reach
the desired result… faster swimming!
The Strength and Conditioning
program that follows has evolved over the past decade. I, along
with NAAC Head Coach and Faster Swimming founder Brad Burget, have
come to the conclusion that faster swimming is dependant on quality
efforts in the pool, great mechanics, and a solid strength and conditioning
program. The strength and conditioning program that follows is designed
to facilitate superior force production and work capacity, while
preventing injuries from coming into play. This manual, this plan,
is the strength training piece to that puzzle. This exact weight
training plan, coupled with our “Weekly Dryland Workouts,”
helped to produce a National Age-group Relay Record, State domination,
and a zero injury rate. Fast swimming, with strong, well-conditioned
athletes and zero breaks in training for injuries - - for the whole
team - - now that’s what a strength and conditioning program
should deliver!
We are offering the 14 week book and the Faster Swimming book as a bundle for our Holiday Sale. The Faster Swimming book offers the mechanics of each stroke, race strategies for competition, nutrition and details on how to set up your dryland program.
The 14 week book offers all the swimming and dryland workouts needed to get your High School and Middle School swimmers in shape, increase aerobic capacity, teaching them how to sprint and then tapering them for Championships.
